The Environmental Projects Officer will work closely with landowners to oversee environmental
surveys, development of management plans, and practical site improvement works. The role aims to
enhance biodiversity, promote 3030 land management, and support conservation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Engage with landowners, farmers, and stakeholders to promote conservation efforts, 3030
and environmental stewardship.
Create quotation/tender documentation for environmental surveys, management plans and
site works and oversee these contracts.
Develop and implement site-specific management plans in collaboration with landowners
and regulatory bodies.
Coordinate and oversee practical site improvement works, including habitat restoration,
rewilding, and sustainable land-use practices.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of environmental projects, ensuring compliance with
relevant policies and funding requirements.
Provide technical advice and guidance on land management practices to enhance
biodiversity and ecosystem resilience.
Work with volunteers, contractors, and partner organizations to deliver conservation
projects.
Prepare reports, grant applications, and funding proposals/applications to support project
sustainability.
Keep up to date with environmental legislation, best practices, and emerging trends in
conservation.
To maintain good relationships and communication between the Partnership and its
members and promote the work of the Partnership.
To present information (oral and written) about the work of the Partnership.
To represent the Belfast Hills Partnership at meetings and events as required.
To work with other staff and volunteers to carry out any other duties required for the
effective operation of the Partnership and its projects.

Salary: £35,919 to £37,855 [depending on level of experience]
Contract Type: Full time contract until end of March 2028, subject to funding
