Electrical Switchgear Academy with Vertiv
The Assured Skills Electrical Switchgear Academy with Vertiv provides industry-leading training and will prepare you for a role in the electrical installation sector. This Academy will be delivered in partnership with North West Regional College (NWRC).
Training
The Electrical Switchgear Academy with Vertiv is an eight-week training course providing practical knowledge and real-world experience required to work in the sector.
Training will include five weeks intensive training at NWRC and three weeks work-based training at the Vertiv site in Derry-Londonderry.
Participants will receive a weekly training allowance of £180 for the duration of the Academy, as well as help with travelling and childcare expenses where people qualify.
Successful applicants to the Academy will work towards a Level 2 entry level qualification in Electrical Installation (EAL) for work in the electrical switchgear sector.
Those who successfully finish the course are guaranteed an interview with Vertiv for a permanent role as a Junior Panel Wirer.
An interview is not a guarantee of a job. Offers of employment will be solely at the discretion of the company following the interview.
Who can apply
No previous experience is needed but you must:
- be at least 18 years old on Monday 6 October 2025
- have a right to work and to undertake Assured Skills training in the UK at the point of application and not be disqualified from doing either by reason of their immigration status
