Contract: Full-time, Temporary
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

About the Role
Staffline is recruiting for an experienced Economic Development Manager on behalf of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.
This is a strategic leadership role focused on driving economic development, investment, and regeneration across the borough. You will coordinate key initiatives, work with stakeholders across public and private sectors, secure external funding, and support long-term economic objectives for the area.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead economic development and regeneration projects
- Build partnerships with public, private, and voluntary sector bodies
- Provide strategic support for business growth and inward investment
- Promote the borough regionally and nationally to attract funding and development
- Identify and address barriers to economic growth
- Manage staff, budgets, and service performance
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of economic programmes
Essential Criteria
Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Economics, Regeneration, Planning, or related field
- OR minimum 4 years of relevant economic development experience
Experience
- At least 2 years in an economic role including:
- Managing staff, contracts, and budgets
- Leading large-scale economic or regeneration projects
- Developing strategy and implementing policy
- Engaging with business stakeholders
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Familiarity with economic development in Northern Ireland
- Working knowledge of local and regional funding opportunities
- Understanding of relevant political, social, and economic policies
- Full UK driving licence and access to transport
Desirable
- Additional relevant professional or management qualifications
