Early Years Practitioner

Location: Ballymena & Antrim

Hours: 30 hours per week

Salary: £12.60 per hour

Contract: Temporary Ongoing

Total Care Recruitment is hiring on behalf of our clientfor an Early Years Practitioner to work within the Developmental Programme for 23 year olds.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work as part of a dedicated team providing high-quality childcare in line with the Minimum Standards for Childminding and Daycare (NI). The successful candidate will help create a supportive and nurturing environment where each child’s individual needs are met.

Main Duties

• Support childrens personal, social, emotional, cognitive, and language development

• Use developmental tools to observe, assess and track progress

• Deliver structured group play sessions and individual support through home visits

• Build strong relationships with children, families, and professionals

• Plan and implement both individual and group-based services

• Promote best practice in child protection and safeguarding

Working Pattern

• Monday: 9.00am 4.30pm

• Tuesday: 9.00am 4.30pm

• Wednesday: 9.00am 5.00pm

• Thursday: 9.00am 2.30pm

• Friday: 9.00am 1.00pm

Essential Criteria

• Minimum Level 2 Diploma in Childcare (or equivalent)

• Experience working with children under the age of 4

• A passion for early years development and supporting families

• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

• Knowledge of child development including physical, linguistic, and emotional growth

• Ability to travel between sites in Ballymena and Antrim (mileage reimbursed)

Desirable

• Level 3 qualification in Childcare

• Previous experience working in a Sure Start or community setting
