Honeycomb Jobs is delighted to be working with our public sector client, to recruit a Discovery Centre Facilitator, temporary until 31st December 2025 ( to be reviewed). This will be 14 hours per week and will include some weekend work on a rota basis.
The Client – Our public sector client is a leading cultural institution who is responsible for ensuring that its significant collection is developed, cared for and accessible to the widest possible audience.
The Role – The role would be ideal for someone looking for some additional stimulus at the weekend. One shift on a Saturday ( every 4 weeks). Plus, to cover any staff absences for annual leave or sickness.
Essential Criteria:
- A third- level qualification in a relevant subject; Art, History, Natural Sciences.
- Evidence of excellent oral and interpersonal skills demonstrated within a public environment.
- Experience within a visitor/ audience setting or dealing with the public in an information giving environment.
- Experience of planning and delivering creative activities/ workshops.
- Proven ability to work within a team setting and on own initiative.
- Experience of operating ICT and AV equipment.
- Demonstratable track record of learning and self- development and a willingness to broaden knowledge and learn new skills.
Desirable:
- Experience of developing and delivering learning programmes and knowledge of the NI curriculum.
- Experience of working within a museum or other environmental, cultural heritage organisation or venue.
- Experience of working with community groups of adults or Children
