Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Engineer Lead to oversee the design and implementation of advanced AV systems across a variety of environments. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for delivering innovative AV solutions that enhance communication, collaboration, and user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and engineering of AV systems for conference rooms and other spaces.
- Develop detailed AV system schematics, signal flow diagrams, and equipment layouts.
- Ensure designs meet client requirements, industry standards, and budget constraints.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, consultants, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee installation teams and ensure quality control during implementation.
- Manage timelines, deliverables, and documentation for multiple concurrent projects.
- Specify and configure AV equipment including displays, projectors, control systems, DSPs, microphones, speakers, and video conferencing systems.
- Lead and facilitate team calls, ensuring project progress and qualification records are consistently updated and maintained.
- Actively participate in the preparation and delivery of comprehensive AV RFP responses, including requirements analysis, solution design, technical documentation, and pricing proposals, ensuring alignment with client needs and project objectives.
- Engage in AV design consultancies, from needs assessment to system specification, delivering tailored, high-quality solutions.
- Perform system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Stay current with emerging AV technologies and trends.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
- Participate in client meetings to gather requirements and present design concepts.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 to7 years of experience in AV system design and engineering.
- CTS-D or CTS-I certification preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools.
- Experience with AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX, Extron), DSPs (e.g., Biamp, QSC), and video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
- Strong understanding of IP networking and AV-over-IP technologies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
