Manufacturing Design Engineer
Location: Dungannon
Salary: £40,000+ DOE
Connexus UK are delighted to be recruiting for a Manufacturing Design Engineer on behalf of their client based in the Dungannon area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled engineer with strong design experience to contribute to the development of cutting-edge products in the concrete batching and crushing & screening industry.
The Role
As a Manufacturing Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in planning, designing, optimising, and monitoring engineering projects. You will combine creativity with technical expertise to deliver designs that are not only commercially viable but also exceed industry standards. This role requires a balance of independent problem-solving and effective teamwork across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Use design software to create and develop innovative products that are both technically feasible and profitable.
- Research and stay up to date with new materials, components, and deployment methods.
- Develop detailed engineering drawings for manufacturing, aligned with production processes and machinery.
- Organise and maintain accurate engineering records.
- Build and continuously review Bills of Materials, liaising with relevant teams to manage changes and discrepancies.
- Ensure all designs and components meet industry and business standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are delivered into production effectively.
- Provide hands-on production and engineering support when required.
- Design with cost-efficiency and budget considerations in mind.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring strong communication and alignment across all projects.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with at least 4 years’ experience in design/development within the concrete batching or crushing & screening industry.
- Strong working knowledge of 3D SolidWorks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently when required.
