Job Summary

Role: Corporate Communications Officer – Permanent – Belfast Job Overview VANRATH are partnering with a large public sector organisation in their search for a Corporate Communications Officer, to join the business on a permanent contract. The successful candidate will work to deliver effective media and corporate communications that enhance the organisation’s reputation, support brand visibility, and ensure clear, consistent messaging across all channels. Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 Belfast Permanent Key Responsibilities: Support the development and implementation of the organisation’s corporate affairs and media strategy. Draft press releases, media statements, briefings, and digital content aligned with corporate messaging. Act as a first point of contact for media enquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses. Monitor media coverage and compile daily press summaries and reputational insight reports. Assist in managing stakeholder engagement, including preparation of briefing packs, correspondence, and event logistics. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure clear and consistent communication across all platforms. Support issues management and crisis communication activity in conjunction with senior colleagues. Liaise with public relations agencies and external stakeholders, ensuring a professional and coordinated approach. Maintain and update media contact lists, internal communication tools, and content calendars. Essential Criteria: A degree in Communications, Public Relations, Media Studies, Journalism, or a related discipline. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a media relations, corporate communications, or public relations role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content for press and digital channels. Experience handling media enquiries and producing press releases or statements. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. Competence in using Microsoft Office and familiarity with media monitoring or content management tools. Professionalism and discretion in managing confidential or sensitive information. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a communications team.
