A prestigious global financial institution is seeking an Assistant Company Secretary to join its Legal Governance team in Belfast. This is a fantastic opportunity for a corporate governance professional looking to develop their career in a highly regulated and dynamic environment, supporting a wide portfolio of UK legal entities and engaging with senior stakeholders.

Your new role
This role offers exposure to a broad range of governance and legal entity management responsibilities. You will play a key role in supporting Board and Committee meetings, maintaining statutory records, and contributing to corporate governance projects across a portfolio of over 50 UK entities.Key responsibilities include:

Organising and supporting Board and Committee meetings, including agenda setting, meeting pack preparation, and minute taking.
Maintaining statutory registers, Power of Attorney records, and delegated signatory lists.
Responding to internal KYC and governance-related queries.
Participating in corporate projects such as liquidations, returns of capital, and intra-group transfers.
Liaising with external legal firms, notaries, and regulatory bodies.
Ensuring data integrity across governance systems and databases.

What you’ll need to succeed

Experience in corporate governance, ideally with exposure to Board and Committee processes.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
Ability to build rapport with senior stakeholders and work collaboratively across jurisdictions.
Working towards or holding CGI (Chartered Governance Institute) qualifications is advantageous.
Willingness to travel between Belfast and London if required.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
