As part of this mission, Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful has launched myEARTH, a new digital platform designed to help individuals and organisations take meaningful environmental action. The platform connects over 40 delivery partners, providing ideas, inspiration, and resources to support everyday sustainable choices.
About the Role
Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful is seeking a creative and motivated Communications Officer to support the growth and success of the myEARTH platform. Working closely with the Communications Manager, you’ll be responsible for promoting myEARTH, managing content, and engaging with a growing network of environmental delivery partners.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about communications, sustainability, and digital engagement who wants to make a tangible difference for our planet.
You might currently be working as a Communications Assistant, Digital Marketing Executive, Content Creator, or Social Media Officer, and are ready to take the next step in a purpose-driven organisation.
Key Responsibilities

Manage content and partner engagement across the myEARTH platform

Review, approve, and upload content from delivery partners, maintaining high-quality standards

Generate creative ideas to engage audiences and grow platform participation

Create engaging content for social media and email campaigns aligned with brand guidelines

Support press and PR activities, including writing case studies and drafting press releases

Coordinate photography and videography projects to showcase impact stories

Monitor communication performance metrics and report on outcomes

Actively contribute to wider organisational communications initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Essential Criteria:

Undergraduate degree (preferably in communications, marketing or a related field) or at least 2 years’ relevant experience

Minimum of 1 year’s experience in digital communications

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to produce effective content for a range of audiences

Competence in Microsoft Office, Canva, social media platforms, and Mailchimp

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple relationships

Basic data literacy and ability to interpret communication metrics
Desirable Criteria:

Understanding of environmental issues or sustainability campaigns

Experience managing a complex website or digital platform

Knowledge of campaign planning and delivery

Hybrid working – home-based with one day per week in Belfast

Flexible working hours between 8am and 6pm (core hours 10am-4pm)
