The Role

* Lead and deliver effective communication and marketing strategies that align with organisational goals
* Manage media relations, coordinate press activity, and represent the organisation’s voice across print and digital media
* Oversee social media channels, creating engaging content and analysing performance
* Manage the production of key publications including the Annual Report and strategic plans
* Support event promotion and coordination, including conferences and major volunteer programmes
* Strengthen Volunteer Now’s brand identity and ensure consistent messaging across all communications
* Build positive relationships with funders, partners, and stakeholders to enhance visibility and income generation opportunities
* Support internal communications, ensuring staff and volunteers are well-informed and engaged
* Empower and support staff across departments to deliver unified, effective messaging

About You
You’ll be a confident communicator with a flair for storytelling and a passion for connecting people with purpose. You will bring:
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a communications or marketing role
* Excellent writing, editing, and project management skills
* Strong understanding of communications and marketing principles across multiple media
* Experience creating and delivering communication plans that achieve measurable impact
* Proficiency with digital communication tools and social media management platforms (e.g. Hootsuite, Buffer)
* A collaborative and strategic mindset with the ability to work creatively and independently

A third-level qualification in communications, marketing, or a related discipline would be an advantage, as would experience of working in the charity or voluntary sector and engaging with funders or corporate partners.

Benefits
* Flexible and hybrid working arrangements
* Generous annual leave, rising with service (starting at 22 days plus statutory/public holidays)
* Pension contributions of 4.5% after probation
* Training and professional development opportunities
* Supportive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture
