PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION
JOB TITLE AND BAND: Clerical Officer (Band 2)
DEPARTMENT : All Departments F&C
DIRECTORATE: Children & Families
Qualifications and/or Experience :
5 GCSE’s (Grades A-C) including English Language or equivalent or higher educational standard
OR
2 years’ administrative/clerical experience
Skills / Abilities :
Good organisational / time management skills
Ability to work well in a team
Reliability and flexibility
Good interpersonal skills
Special Aptitudes :
Knowledge of computer packages (E.g. MS Office, Email etc)
Knowledge of office procedures
Experience : 1 years’ experience in the use of ICT. This should include word processing, spreadsheets and emails.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Undertake reception duties, which will include dealing with telephone enquiries efficiently and with courtesy
- Operation of computerised information system
- Distribution of incoming mail/post to relevant staff
- Prioritise and organise work effectively
- Provide clerical support to Social Work Teams as and when required
- Compliance with all relevant legislation and Trust policies relating to data protection and confidentiality of information
- Ordering stationery as and when required
General Requirements
The post holder will be required to:
- Ensure the Trust’s policy on equality of opportunity is promoted through his/her own actions and those of any staff for whom he/she has responsibility.

It is a standard condition that all Trust staff may be required to serve at any location within the Trust’s area, as needs of the service demand.
