As Catering Lead you will Supervise and coordinate the effective operation of the kitchen within the home with responsibility for supervising employees working within it, to ensure a high standard of customer service. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring the home delivers a nutritionally balanced, cost effective, fully cooked on site provision.
Sir Samuel Kelly Residential Home is situated 3 miles outside Belfast in the town of Holywood. It is situated in 2-3 acres of woodland and landscaped gardens. A local family gifted the home to The Salvation Army in the 1960’s. Since then it has been used for the care of older people.
In 1997 the home was extended to provide 32 bedrooms with small group living settings. In 2019/20 the original ‘old family home’ has been refurbished to a very high standard, we are able to provide accommodation and care for 56 residents.
This is a key role and the successful candidate will have;
- A commitment to leading and providing a resident focussed quality catering service
- Experience of working at a supervisory level within a relevant food provision environment
- Ability to cook a full menu range meeting the nutritional, cultural, dietary and preferences of frail older people
- Up to date knowledge and understanding of food hygiene requirements pertaining to food preparation, cooking and storage including BFH and COSHH requirements
