Our client a leading manufacturing business in the local area is looking to recruit a Buyerto join their team. The successful candidate will join a growing and successful business and be responsible for ensuring parts, materials and components required for production are readily available.

The Role
- Develop, improve and build strong supplier relationships
- Expedite purchased parts as and when required to support production requirements
- Organise and scheduling delivery of parts and materials required and follow up on any overdue deliveries
- Ensure all purchased goods meet required specifications
- Monitor and review supplier performance and address any reoccurring issues
- Track progress and manage goods sent out for rework
- Managing call off orders for long lead time items
- Other relevant duties
Essential Criteria
- A minimum (2) years + experience in a purchasing / procurement role
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- The ability to work both alone and as part of a team
- Previous experience in working with a MRP system
- Willingness to learn and develop skills
