Business Development Manager – Packaging Solutions

THE COMPANY:
Our client is a major player in the packaging industry, supplying a full range of packaging consumables and solutions to some of the biggest names across pharmaceuticals, retail, manufacturing, e-commerce and industrial sectors. They have an exceptional reputation for service, reliability and product quality, and due to continued growth across Ireland, they are now looking to hire a Business Development Manager to manage and expand key accounts throughout the region.
This is a well-established territory with an extensive customer base and strong year-on-year growth.
THE ROLE:
As Business Development Manager, you will manage a broad portfolio of SME and mid-market clients across Ireland, with a sales focus of 80% account management and 20% new business development.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing and growing an established customer base across pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, retail and e-commerce
- Identifying opportunities to increase spend and support clients with tailored packaging solutions
- Conducting on-site visits, reviews and service meetings with purchasing, operations and supply chain teams
- Managing quotations, tenders, pricing and margin analysis
- Driving commercial performance across the region and expanding the company’s footprint
This is a full-cycle commercial role with full autonomy, supported by marketing, technical and operational teams.
THE PERSON:
We are looking to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
- Experience in packaging, industrial consumables, technical products, or commercial B2B sales
- Proven account management experience handling SME to mid-value customers
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, able to calculate margin and profitability onsite with customers
- A consultative, relationship-driven sales style
- Strong organisational and territory management skills
- Full clean driving licence
- Willing to cover a wide territory including Northern Ireland
