A bit about the role;
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team at our Head Office in Cookstown. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to the continuous growth and success of the Keylite business. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our reporting and compliance processes.
What you will be doing;
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Assist with the comprehensive preparation of monthly management accounts, including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flows.
Perform ongoing Year-End accounts preparation, including control account reconciliations and Balance Sheet schedules.
Contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
Treasury & Payables Management:
Monitor and manage daily cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
Review and approve weekly and monthly supplier payment runs.
Manage the company’s employee expenses policy and claims, ensuring adherence and timely processing.
Compliance & Statutory Returns:
Checking and supporting the process for UK and ROI VAT returns.
Review and submit Intrastat / EC Sales returns.
Assist with the preparation of statutory year-end financial statements and support audit processes, liaising with external auditors.
Asset & Intercompany Management:
Manage the company’s Fixed Assets Register.
Ensure all intercompany recharges are processed accurately and on time.
Operational Support & Improvement:
Assist with managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting function, liaising effectively with other finance sub-departments.
Provide cover and support to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams during holiday periods or peak times.
Participate in projects designed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Finance function.
Undertake any other ad hoc duties as required to support the Finance department and wider business operations.
Be prepared to travel to and between sites as necessary to fulfil the requirements of the post and meet project deadlines.
Ensure a flexible approach to working hours to fulfil the requirements of the post and meet project deadlines
What we are looking for;
Essential
Part qualified Accountant studying with either CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent
Ability to prioritise and multi-task, while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Ability to use own initiative and demonstrate a high level of organisational skill.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with both financial and non-financial people.
Excellent people management skills with the ability to manage remote teams
Unquestionable professional ethics and integrity
Ability to proactively resolve day-to-day operational issues and to effect process improvements
Excellent IT skills (including Microsoft Excel)
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Full UK driving licence
Desirable
Detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Navision or equivalent
Experience of financial control in a manufacturing company.
