Job Summary

Our Construction client in the Cookstown area require and Accounts Technician to join their busy Finance Department. Reporting directly into a Finance Manager your primary responsibility will be to provide bookkeeping support for the finance team and prepare year end accounts and financial statements for the company.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of annual accounts for small companies ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and deadlines.
  • Prepare Quarterly VAT Returns
  • Submission of accounts to companies house;
  • Cash Book postings;
  • Monthly bank reconciliations;
  • Sales Ledger management including Debtor statement reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate filing system for invoices/statements;
  • Assist with general accounts and banking duties as required;
  • Any other duties as required by management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Be Qualified or Part Qualified Accounts Technician (AAT or IATI)
  • Have at least 1 years experience in a busy finance department.
  • Have previous experience in MS office applications including Word and Excel.
  • Previous experience in SAGE Accounts Production desirable
  • Be highly motivated and be capable of working on their own initiative and without supervision
  • Friendly, helpful, confident and engaging personality
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Exhibit excellent organisational skills and attention to detail along with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience of handling large volumes of work, working to tight deadlines where attention to detail is required.
  • Have the ability to quickly adapt to various sets of computerised accounts.
  • Candidates should have the appropriate work permit or the right to work in the UK
