Shift Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor production processes to ensure full compliance with food safety regulations and quality control standards;
  • Identify and resolve production issues promptly to maintain optimal efficiency and minimise downtime;
  • Train and mentor new team members, ensuring they understand safety protocols, hygiene standards, and production techniques;
  • Take ownership for achieving daily production targets, maintaining efficiency, and ensuring consistent product quality;
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement;
  • Work closely with Quality Control, Maintenance, and Despatch teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations across all departments.

The Person:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a food manufacturing environment;
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team;
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and product quality;
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced production setting;
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, able to work closely with other departments.

Preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Experience implementing lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices;
  • Relevant Health and Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent);
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot minor equipment or process issues.

Normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 2.00pm to 10.30pm.
