**Job Title:** Quality Specialist (12 month Fixed Term Contract)
**Salary/Grade:** 16.75 per hour
**Location** : Larne

**The opportunity**
Caterpillar has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Specialist (12 month fixed term contract) who wants to be challenged and is interested in progressing with the company. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the build quality of products is maintained to the highest standard and will have the opportunity to identify improvement opportunities.
You will work with and contribute towards a team of production operatives. This skilled position allows you to develop your communication and interpersonal skills as well as use your initiative. You will interact with hourly and salaried employees at your facility and will receive guidance from your Production Manager and Quality Engineer.
Many opportunities exist for those Quality Specialists who are keen to progress in the production environment and to leadership positions.
**What you will do:**
+ Inspect functions to check accuracy of in process parts, assemblies, materials, electrical assemblies and generator sets.
+ Analyse special problems arising from faulty methods, defective materials, assembly difficulties and customer service complaints and recommend corrective measures.
+ Initiate special reports and engineering changes to improve and maintain the quality of work produced.
+ Responsible for statistical reporting.
+ Responsible for processes under 1S09001 and MQ12005.
+ Compliance with safety and quality standards.
+ Compliance with 5S programme and other business improvement initiatives.
+ Display behaviour and conduct fitting with our Values in Action.
+ Train other employees if and when required.
+ Any other appropriate duties.
**What you have:**
+ Knowledge of basic assembly and fabrication procedures and methods.
+ The ability to follow and comprehend verbal, specific and detailed procedures and work instructions as well as basic arithmetic calculations in order to perform the duties described above.
+ The ability to be able to read and interpret schematic drawings and sequences of assembly prints.
+ The ability to use a variety of hand, gauge equipment and power tools.
+ Ability to work from heights.
+ Physical ability to fulfil the requirements of the job.

+ Previous experience working in a lean environment.
+ Experience working to takt times.
+ Excellent interpersonal and planning skills required to analyze problems in team environment and to devise and implement action plans.
+ Strong customer focus.
+ Attention to detail to meet quality standards.
+ Reasonable level of computer literacy.
