Role: Senior QS
Location: Head Office, Draperstown
Hours: Full Time (9am5pm, early finish Friday)
Pay: £55-65k (experience dependent)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior QS to join one of our longstanding clients, a dynamic and forward-thinking construction company based in Mid Ulster with a wide portfolio of projects throughout the UK and Ireland. Site travel will be required to England/London and Scotland, including overnight stays as needed.

The Role:

Are you ready to take the lead in commercial management for a range of exciting construction projects? As Senior QS, you will lead the commercial management of all projects, provide strategic input to procurement, manage cashflow, and ensure contractual timelines are met. You will also be responsible for the development of junior staff in your department and provide strategic and cost input into large-scale tenders, working closely with the directors to achieve the long-term goals of the company.

The Requirements:
Minimum of five years relevant experience in a QS role
Strong knowledge of construction contracts JCT D/B
Excellent negotiation and communication skills

Desirable Criteria:
Two years experience in managing staff
Chartered surveyor status

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts
Draft, review, and negotiate subcontractor agreements
Manage change control processes and variations
Evaluate bids and negotiate terms with suppliers and subcontractors
Manage and report on contract cashflow and work in progress
Supervise, mentor, and encourage surveying staff in their professional development
Work closely with senior operations team to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and profitably
Meet regularly with clients, developing relationships and resolving disputes effectively
Promote best practices and continuous improvement
