With 82 beautifully appointed bedrooms, a destination restaurant, café/bar, and exclusive private dining rooms, The Bedford Hotel Belfast will set new standards for hospitality in Northern Ireland.
Role Responsibilities
As Restaurant Manager, you will manage the Restaurant operations to ensure quality service and standards while delivering a guest experience that is unique. The key responsibilities of the role will include but not be limited to:
- Responsible for managing the day-to-day staffing requirements, planning and assigning tasks, whilst establishing performance and development goals for your team members.
- Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback via Check-In’s with your team members to improve team member performance.
- Be part of the team with a visible presence on the floor throughout service times to ensure the standards are met.
- Continuously review service standards and procedures and implement the necessary actions to improve them in line with our Company core standards.
- Manage and deliver effective training and development for your team, ensuring they are led, motivated and developed to achieve customer satisfaction and company objectives.
- Ensure that the POS system is up to date with new menu prices, guest’s profiles and other important information and guest transactions are handled in a secure manner.
- Drive sales to maximise food revenue, ensuring budgets are met.
- Monitor and control the direct costs relating to the restaurant such as operating equipment, payroll, rotas, expenses against the budget and business levels.
- Ensure you have a sound knowledge of the local area regarding history, places of interest and special events and where further information can be obtained.
- Ensure all procedures & day-to-day performance comply with legislative and hotel guidelines e.g. Health & Safety, Food Handling & Hygiene Legislation etc.
- Complete any other reasonable tasks as delegated by your Line Manager.
Key Requirements
- Previous Restaurant Manager experience, preferably in a hotel environment.
- Excellent customer service skills, standards driven, good organisational skills
- Excellent leadership skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style.
- Proactive in up-selling and anticipating customer needs as well as improving the bottom line.
