To provide administrative support to the Access to Healthcare Manager and assist in the processing and recovery of funds from private patients, overseas visitors, and non-UK residents accessing treatment within the Trust. The role involves liaising with internal departments, external bodies, and supporting systems that ensure correct charging, paperwork completion, and documentation accuracy.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrivate Patients & Non-UK Residents

Identify paying patients daily through admission lists, Encompass, A&E reports, and ward activity.

Ensure PP1 and Undertaking to Pay forms are completed accurately for chargeable patients.

Verify entitlement to free treatment and obtain proof of identity and address.

Price chargeable episodes in line with current Trust tariffs, including radiology and laboratory activity.

Liaise with consultants, departments, and patients to ensure correct documentation.

Assist in maintaining systems for private patient insurance forms.

Support the recovery of outstanding debts and deposits.

Respond to queries raised by Shared Services, Finance, and external bodies.
Administrative Duties

Capture and process chargeable episodes using approved hospital systems.

Report suspected fraud cases to Counter Fraud & Probity Services.

Support the collation of information relating to complaints.

Assist in increasing staff awareness and training on access to healthcare processes.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:

5 GCSEs (AC) including English, OR
-
3 years admin/clerical experience
