About the company

HireIQ are delighted to be working with a highly successful company in the Newry area, as they look to add a Assistant Finance Manager to their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys the commercial side of accounting, working across multiple divisions and departments to help drive accuracy, efficiency, and value for the wider business.

The role offers a great balance between financial analysis, reporting, and stakeholder engagement, within a supportive, environment that encourages growth and development.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage your own portfolio of clients, preparing year-end and management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.

  • Work closely with the departments to ensure all deadlines are met and work is delivered to the highest standard.

  • Oversee all aspects of client accounting from start to finish ensuring work is delivered on time and within budget.

  • Review and finalise accounts, prepare detailed financial reports, and respond promptly to client queries.

  • Deliver specialist advisory and project work, providing clear recommendations and technical insight.

  • Managing and maintaining key financial agreements and data across multiple group divisions
  • Providing insightful reporting and analysis to finance, procurement, and commercial departments
  • Assisting in preparing annual budgets and forecasts for income streams across the group
  • Contributing to process improvements, systems enhancements, and wider finance projects
  • Keep up to date with accounting standards and legislation

Your experience:

  • Relevant professional qualification (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
  • Previous experience of working in a similar role
  • Experience of handling a client portfolio
  • Experience of training junior members of the team
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments

  • Advanced Excel proficiency and strong IT capability
