This is an excellent opportunity for experienced lorry drivers and skilled ground works operatives who enjoy working outdoors and are looking for a role with a reputable local company.

Ground Work Operatives

Full time positions with our Civil Engineering Department.

Job Summary

  • The applicant will be required to carryout groundworks and concrete-related tasks on commercial sites, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Job Role

  • Prepare ground surfaces for concrete laying, including excavation, grading and compacting.
  • Mix, pour and spread concrete using hand and power tools.
  • Finish concrete surfaces using appropriate techniques, e.g. screeding, floating, trowelling.
  • Install drainage systems, kerbs and other ground-level infrastructure.
  • Erect fencing etc.
  • Work collaboratively with other trades and site personnel.
  • Follow site safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.

Applicants are required to have:

  • Valid CSR or CSCS card
  • Experienced in managing operative, plant and material resources
  • Good organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and liaison skills
  • Ability to read and interpret site drawings and specifications.
  • Proven experience in groundworks and concrete finishing.
  • Time management
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Physically fit and able to work in an outdoor environment.

HGV Lorry Driver Class 1

Full time position with MP Coleman Ltd.

Job Summary

  • The applicant will be required to drive long or short distances in order to deliver and collect heavy goods/plant hire.

Job Role

-Safely loading and securing goods on the vehicle.
-Maintaining and conducting basic check of your vehicle, including brake, oil, or tyre checks.
-Responsible for recording and reporting any vehicle defects and reporting to office.
-Planning delivery routes.
-Driving large goods vehicles.
-Logging delivery information correctly.
-Keeping vigilant of correct delivery times.
– Ensuring all speed limits and weight retractations are obeyed.
-Ensure the correct breaks are taken to ensure tachograph is keep up to date with current regulations.
-All duties to be carried out as instructed by Supervisor/Manager.
-From time to time you will be required to undertake other duties to assist other members of staff e.g. yard duties and cold bagged tar duties.
-Ensure that Personal Protection Equipment issued is worn at all times.

Applicants are required to have:

-Valid digital Tachograph card
– Proven experience as an HGV driver, preferably with moving heavy plant.
– Excellent driving skills and strong commitment to safety.
-Strong organisational and time management skills to meet delivery deadlines.
– Excellent communication and liaison skills.
-Ability to read and interpret maps and use of GPS navigation systems effectively.

HGV Lorry Driver Class 2

Full time position with MP Coleman Ltd.

Job Summary

  • The applicant will be required to drive long or short distances in order to deliver tar and quarry products as instructed by the Surfacing Manager.

Job Role
