Job Title: Forklift (Telehandler) Driver

Job Purpose:

To operate the telehandler safely and efficiently on construction sites, ensuring materials are moved and positioned as required to support site operations. The role also involves assisting with general site labouring and supporting the wider site team to maintain productivity and safety standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate the telehandler to move, lift, and position materials as directed by site management.

• Conduct daily vehicle checks and ensure the telehandler is maintained in safe working condition.

• Follow site safety protocols and company procedures at all times.

• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently.

• Support general site activities, including manual handling and assisting trades where required.

• Maintain a clean and organised working area.

• Communicate effectively with the site team to coordinate movements and ensure smooth site operations.

• Comply with all Health & Safety regulations and contribute to a safe working environment.

Person Specification:

Essential:

• Minimum of 5 years experience operating a telehandler on active construction sites.

• Valid CPCS or NPORS Telehandler licence.

• Strong awareness of health and safety practices.

• Willingness to assist with manual labour and general site tasks as required.

• Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

• Good communication and time management skills.

Desirable:

• Experience working on multi-discipline construction projects.

• First Aid or other relevant site safety certifications.

• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites.

Summary:

This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced and flexible telehandler driver who takes pride in maintaining high standards of safety, teamwork, and professionalism. The candidate must be willing to step out of the vehicle when required and support the wider site team in delivering successful project outcomes.
