This is a specialised position requiring precision, responsibility, and a strong focus on hygiene and safety.
Role Overview
As a Chicken Sexer, you will be responsible for accurately determining the sex of day-old chicks using the vent sexing method. Your work will directly support our breeding programmes and contribute to the success of our hatchery operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Vent Sexing of Chickens
- Achieve and maintain a sexing accuracy rate of 98% or higher
- Ensure a consistent split of 48% parent stock and 52% by-product
2. Hygiene and Bio-Security
- Set up all equipment hygienically and in accordance with Company procedures
- Complete stool testing as per Site protocols
- Notify management of holiday plans and destinations in advance to support bio-security measures
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in poultry handling or hatchery work is desirable but not essential – full training will be provided
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, bio-secure environment
