MJM Marine is looking for an experienced HR Manager to cover maternity leave. The post will be for a one year period commencing in November 2025.
MJM Marine is a progressive, flexible and rapidly growing specialist joinery and interior fit-out contractor. The business has built a reputation for excellence and innovation by delivering major marine projects for local and global clients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all HR functions including talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, training and development, compliance, and more. You will play a critical role in implementing our HR strategy, enhancing employee experience, and promoting a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
Other key duties include:
HR Leadership & Strategy
- Manage all aspects of the Human Resources function
- Develop, implement, and monitor HR strategies and initiatives aligned with business goals
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on all HR matters
- Represent HR on internal committees and working groups
People Management & Development
- Line manage and mentor HR Officers/Administrators
- Promote a high-performing HR team through continuous development and coaching
- Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement across the organisation
Core HR Activities
- Manage full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, retention, performance, and exit processes
- Manage performance appraisal processes and ensure alignment with KPIs
- Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary, and grievance processes
- Manage training needs analysis and manage learning & development programs
- Monitor and ensure GDPR and data privacy compliance
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and analyse HR metrics, KPIs, and reporting to inform strategic decisions
- Ensure timely and accurate Equal Opportunity Commission (EOC) reporting
- Manage internal employee surveys and action planning
- Ensure full compliance with internal policies and employment legislation
The ideal person will have:
- At least 5 years experience working as a HR Manager
- CIPD or equivalent HR qualification
- A strong understanding of HR practices, employment law, and regulatory compliance
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Analytical skills with experience in HR reporting and data interpretation
- A proactive and solutions-focused mindset
- Advanced computer literacy including Microsoft Office, Excel and Project
