Job Summary

Group Financial Controller – Belfast

£60,000 – £65,000 | 1pm Finish Friday | Bonus

Reed Finance is assisting in the appointment of a Group Financial Controller for a recognisable retail group in Belfast.

Reporting to the Group Finance Director and managing a small team, we’re seeking an ambitious individual with established leadership and technical skills to assume this key role.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering accountability, humility, and growth.
  • Deliver accurate and insightful financial reporting, including monthly management accounts, board analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Oversee and continuously improve internal controls, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting cycles with precision and clarity.
  • Prepare annual audit packs and statutory accounts for external auditors.
  • Lead monthly cash flow analysis and ensure effective liquidity management.
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations and ensure strong financial governance across the group.
  • Act as a strategic business partner to department heads, supporting decision-making and driving operational improvements.

About you!

  • A Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferably with experience in a growing SME
  • Commercially astute and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Established management/leadership skills
  • Highly motivated and can lead and positively influence others
