Cooneen Group is seeking an experienced Payroll Lead to join our Finance team at our head office in Fivemiletown, Co. Tyrone. In this key role, you will oversee end-to-end payroll across the Group, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, helping to drive improvements and support the wider finance function.
What You’ll Do
Leading and managing the end-to-end payroll process across multiple Group companies.
Acting as the main point of contact for payroll queries, both internal and external.
Ensuring compliance with legislation, including SMP, SSP, RTI, Auto Enrolment, and tax codes.
Providing clear advice and support to colleagues on payroll and related matters.
Supporting the Finance Team with period-end and month-end processes.
Identifying opportunities to improve processes and implementing agreed changes.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Hands-on experience with payroll and accountancy software.
Strong working knowledge of all payroll-related matters, including SMP, SSP, RTI, Auto Enrolment, P11D, and Tax Codes.
Excellent organisation and time management skills.
Strong communication skills, confident with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Collaborative, able to work effectively in a team and independently.
Proactive and accountable, taking ownership of tasks and delivering on time.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to interpret large volumes of data and suggest solutions.
Essential Skills & Experience
Comprehensive payroll experience, ideally in a lead role, with full end-to-end processing within a medium-sized business.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience using payroll and accounting software.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience managing payroll for 100+ employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all aspects of the process.
Background working within a Group company structure, with an understanding of differing company processes.
Awareness of wider finance operations, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
