Accounts and Payroll Administrator

Location: Lisburn, Northern Ireland, BT27

Salary: £25,000 – £35,000 per annum (Dependant on qualifications and experience)

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Part-time (With a willingness to commit to attend and oversee cash handling at the fourteen race meetings per annum)

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts and Payroll Administrator to join their team.

The Role

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the payroll, bookkeeping and reconciliation processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and experience with payroll and accounting systems. The Accounts & Payroll Administrator will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable and receivable.
  • Deal with Creditors and Debtors queries.
  • Credit Control function.
  • Compile periodic timely payment files.
  • Do all the bank postings.
  • Reconciliation of several control accounts, including the bank, cash and Balance Sheet Items
  • Ensure that all postings to XERO are correctly posted for VAT.
  • Assist with the preparation of Management Accounts, preparing prepayments and accruals.
  • Communicate any financial discrepancies to senior management.
  • Process payrolls for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Maintain records and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Conduct data entry for new hires, terminations, and changes in employee status.
  • Analyse payroll data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Generate payroll reports for management review and audits.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices.

Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

  • AAT (Accounting Technician) or similar qualification desirable
  • Proven experience as an Accounts & Payroll Administrator or similar role.
  • Good Knowledge of Payroll Software and the Payroll function
  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero and a working knowledge of MS excel.
  • Experience in analysing financial data and preparing reports.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping procedures and best practices.

Skills:

  • Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Capability to stay organized and maintain detailed records.
