Job summary
Simon Community is seeking a dynamic Communications Business Partner for a temporary maternity cover position. Reporting to the Director of Growth & Engagement, this pivotal role will lead on sharing our story and showcasing the impact of our work. The successful candidate will manage our digital channels and brand, ensuring our messaging is clear, engaging, and aligned with our mission. Working closely with colleagues across policy, public affairs, and fundraising, you’ll deliver compelling campaigns that raise awareness of homelessness, amplify the voices of those we support, and inspire public engagement. This role also plays a key part in business continuity and crisis communications, helping to protect and enhance our reputation. We’re looking for someone with strong leadership and project management skills, financial acumen, and a collaborative mindset-someone driven, flexible, and eager to grow professionally.
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience of developing and leading on communications, campaigns, and PR strategy work.
- Excellent copywriting and editorial skills, with attention to detail across a range of channels (digital and print).
- A track record of developing creative and compelling content that has increased engagement levels and achieved key business outcomes.
- Experience of effective budget management.
- Experience of using MS Office packages, content and management systems, social media applications/monitoring and web analytics.
- Ability to manage workloads and conflicting priorities to meet targets and deadlines and provide an effective service.
Desirable Criteria
- Membership of relevant professional body e.g. CIPR or CIM.
- An understanding of the voluntary and statutory sectors in Northern Ireland.
- Working knowledge of Public Affairs in Northern Ireland and interest in local politics.
