JOB TITLE: Wood Machinist
LOCATION: Carrickfergus
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Producing quality joinery items as per client specifications
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 5.00pm and 8.00am to 1.00pm on Friday.
RESPONSIBLE TO:Production Manager
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The post holder will be responsible for carrying out a range of wood machining duties within a modern workshop premises, using a variety of equipment and tools.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Producing quality machined items as per client specifications.
- Providing a high quality finish to jobs, in line with job specifications and customer requirements.
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping by ensuring that all areas of the workshop are kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Adhering to all relevant health & safety requirements specified by the Company.
- Interpretation of working drawings and specifications without supervision.
- Ensure accurate marking out of various elements of joinery before commencement of machining
- To participate and support all Company initiatives with compliance of procedures and requirements for ISO & 45001, FSC and Investors in People Standards.
- Any other duties required for the effective operation of the post as deemed by Management.

Essential Criteria
Qualifications
- A minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Wood Machining (or equivalent)
Experience
- A minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar workshop environment
Skills
- Demonstrate a good knowledge of wood making machinery.
- Good time management.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Good communication.
Other
- Flexibility as overtime will be required on occasions to ensure the efficient delivery of service.
