Job Summary

Job Title: Driver Trainer

Location: Belfast Bakery (BT12 6LP)

Shifts: Tuesday – Saturday, start time between 2am & 5am, average 9.5 hours per day.

So what’s it all about?

As our next Driver Trainer, you’ll be instrumental in delivering high-quality training and assessments to our drivers, ensuring they meet and maintain the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and compliance. You’ll work closely with drivers and frontline managers, fostering a culture of cooperation, continuous improvement, and cohesive working across the operation.

Training will be delivered in an engaging and practical way, giving our people the systems, knowledge, and confidence they need to do their jobs safely and effectively. You’ll also help ensure that our risk assessments and safe systems of work are kept up to date and that compliance is consistently maintained to the highest standard.

In this role, you will be responsible for training and assessing all drivers – both directly employed and agency – and leading the induction process for new starters. You’ll support the development of a strong safety culture by creating, reviewing, and delivering Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments, ensuring they are legally up to date. You’ll play a key role in maintaining high transport compliance standards, managing accident reporting, and contributing to operational reporting such as agency and overtime costs.

You will be required to review sales routes to identify operational issues or opportunities for improvement. Through impactful briefings and engagement sessions, you’ll help drive awareness, performance, and accountability across both driver and warehouse teams.

The role also includes supporting day-to-day operations where required – this may include covering van routes.

To excel in this role, you’ll need to be reliable, have good communication skills, and be flexible. In this role, you will be well paid and offered opportunities for development. This role requires an individual who is motivated by building good relationships and interacting with others.

The Key Requirements…

  • C Driving License
  • Experience within FMCG or fast-moving goods distribution environment with driving experience.
