Role: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Design Engineer to join a global manufacturer, working on innovative Ground Support Equipment (GSE) projects.

The Role:

• Design bespoke vehicles and metal fabrication products using SolidWorks/AutoCAD.

• Produce accurate models, drawings, manuals, and technical documentation.

• Liaise with production teams to ensure high-quality, cost-effective designs.

• Conduct structural calculations, tolerance checks, and stress analysis.

• Research materials and incorporate improvements to existing designs.

• Log and resolve design issues, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards.

• Support continuous improvement and contribute to health & safety compliance.

The Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years design engineering experience within metal fabrication.

• Strong technical drawing skills and proficiency in SolidWorks/AutoCAD.

• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

• Knowledge of type approval processes.

• Flexible approach and ability to work under pressure.

Desirable: Experience in hydraulics, electrics, or vehicle design.
