Database & System Support Analyst – Co. Down
An award-winning employer in Northern Ireland is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to join its expanding Business Systems team. The Role
The successful candidate will take ownership of multiple application databases, ensuring performance, integrity, and security standards are maintained and continuously improved. Alongside core DBA duties, the role will provide 2nd Line Support for MES/ERP applications and integrations, while contributing to system improvement and transformation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimise SQL databases (backups, replication, recovery, security, performance tuning).
- Provide 2nd Line Support for ERP/MES systems and integrations.
- Deliver enhancements through structured change processes.
- Support critical maintenance and deployment activities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple teams and departments.
Key Requirements
- Degree in IT or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years’ DBA experience.
- Strong SQL knowledge across optimisation, security, recovery, and replication.
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working independently.
