Employee Relations Advisor – Belfast
Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for employee relations and driving positive workplace culture?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy and growing HR team as an Employee Relations Advisor.
The Role
As Employee Relations Advisor, reporting to the Head of HR, you’ll provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of employee relations. You’ll manage casework across absence, disciplinary, grievance, and TUPE, while supporting managers to handle issues confidently and in line with employment law and company policy.
This role offers a balance of hands-on case management and proactive support to drive positive employee engagement, making it ideal for someone with strong ER knowledge and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and TUPE
- Ensure compliance with current employment legislation and HR best practice, keeping managers up to date with developments in employment law
- Partner with management to resolve people issues, supporting business aims while fostering a positive, customer-focused HR service
- Support managers in managing staff turnover, retention, investigations, and employee engagement initiatives
- Assist with the delivery of HR strategies and policies that align with company values and organisational objectives
- Liaise with external agencies and coordinate the provision of necessary HR information when required
- Support communication with employees to encourage open dialogue and a positive workplace culture
The Ideal Candidate
- CIPD-qualification (or working towards), or relevant degree
- Experience in a generalist or employee relations-focused role
- Strong working knowledge of NI employment law and HR best practice
- Ability to build strong relationships across teams and influence managers effectively
- Highly organised with excellent communication skills
