We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to support major infrastructure projects in Northern Ireland, with a particular focus on highway and rail ecological surveys. This role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to lead impactful environmental work within a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct ecological surveys for highways and rail projects.
- Ensure compliance with UK and NI wildlife legislation, especially regarding protected species.
- Prepare high-quality technical and ecological reports.
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to deliver project objectives.
- Apply cross-disciplinary species knowledge to a variety of projects.
- Make informed, independent decisions both in the field and office.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3–4 years’ relevant ecological experience.
- PTS certification (highly desirable) and ability to work on rail.
- Strong knowledge of UK and NI wildlife legislation.
- Proven ability to lead surveys and deliver technical reporting.
- Full UK driving licence (vehicle provided for site work).
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

- Role primarily based in Northern Ireland; remote review work from other regions may be possible (no travel to Britain required).
