Job Summary

JOB TITLE:Sales Advisor

REPORTING TO:Field Sales Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR:There are no employees reporting to this role

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

This role will impact the success of the Company by supporting retail sales and developing the merchant network. The role will achieve sales volumes, margins and credit ledger objectives in specified product groups as agreed with the Field Sales Manager.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The role will ensure

  • Existing customer business is maintained and developed
  • New customers and accounts are prospected, secured and developed
  • Effective and quality customer service
  • A high level of professionalism at all times
  • The customer is provided with necessary technical support
  • Customer complaints are acted on immediately and effectively followed up
  • Effective delivery and management of the Companys credit policy and procedures
  • Accounts are collected within agreed terms
  • Direct debit and postal payments are promoted
  • Company targeted market share is achieved within the designated sales territory
  • Effective delivery of Company ruminant services at farm level and within the merchant network
  • Silage and grass analysis, including sampling and interpretation of results
  • Preparation of on farm feed plans as required
  • All promotional activities, meetings, demonstrations, product launches and campaigns are supported
  • Accurate completion of sales & prospecting activities, records and documentation
  • Regular telephone contact and customer visits
  • Regular feedback on all sales / marketing information within the designated sales territory
  • Up do date knowledge of Company pricing policy and procedure
  • Up to date technical and commercial knowledge
  • Farming Press & Technical Journals
  • Effective communication with customers, colleagues and clients
  • Any other duties are carried out as appropriate

ESSENTIAL

Education & knowledge

ESSENTIAL

  1. Able to demonstrate a good knowledge of the ruminant industry and agricultural industry in general

DESIRABLE

  1. Educated to a Level 3 in Agriculture

Experience

ESSENTIAL

  1. Knowledge of the agricultural industry
  2. Some experience in the selling within the animal feed industry or general agricultural industry

DESIRABLE

  1. 2+years Sales experience in the animal feed industry or general agricultural industry

Circumstances

ESSENTIAL

  1. Holds a valid Driving Licence
  2. Has a flexible approach to working
