Job Summary

Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, the ideal candidate will be an experienced, pro-active, self-confident and flexible supervisor, who uses their initiative to seek/ generate ideas and opportunities and is prepared to challenge, take decisions, training, development and direction to help take Creative Composites to the next level.You will ideally have a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably gained within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

The following list of duties is not exclusive or exhaustive. The post holder will be required to undertake such tasks / projects / working patterns as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post.

PEOPLE

  • Coach and manage all team members to their full potential through positive challenge during SFT and other interactions. All under performance must be investigated.
  • Optimise resources required to achieve required output and quality levels while ensuring that any noncompliance is immediately investigated and actioned.
  • Ensure all operatives are trained and validated to achieve the agreed standards.
  • Ensure that regular team communications are completed to the correct standard.
  • Take immediate action to address any interpersonal conflict on shift and immediately communicate details of incident to Business Unit Manager.
  • Implement HR or H&S policies immediately and initiate appropriate action.
  • Assist with completion of Annual Performance Reviews with team members.
  • Ensure all employees work and abide by the company values.

HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Understand and consistently adhere to and implement the company H&S policies and procedures.
  • Investigate, review near miss or accident investigations immediately and ensure all details are captured and appropriate action taken. Assist with emergency evacuations.
  • Record and monitor H&S performance through agreed metrics.
  • Proactively identify and eliminate hazards and ensure the team acknowledges H&S as its top priority.

QUALITY

  • Always ensure rigorous MPS application by completing and recording weekly observational audits and address any noncompliance observed.
  • Regularly assess scrap and re-work during SFTs and take immediate action before reporting and escalating if required.
  • Ensure non-conforming parts are investigated, actioned, correctly logged and safely stored in NCP/MRB areas.

MACHINE

  • Ensure equipment is all operating to required standard to safely achieve quality and rate of output to standard.
  • Capture all required information on appropriate performance system/records. Carry out full root cause analysis, act and escalate as required.
  • Ensure rigorous adherence to TPM schedule and implement corrective actions to address non-compliance with schedule.

DELIVERY

  • Capture, monitor and analyse all data relating to adherence to plan. Investigate and action all noncompliance across all shifts.
  • Prioritise and allocate resources to achieve required daily and weekly customer delivery requirements by part type. Immediately investigate and action any noncompliance.
  • Proactively and positively challenge internal suppliers and customers and escalate any issues not resolvable to the appropriate level.

COST

  • Optimise resource required to achieve required output.
  • Cost to produce metrics, reflective of BOM, must be populated, monitored and analysed for all areas on each shift. Noncompliance must be investigated and actioned.
  • Ensure team members understand their individual targets regarding output and quality.
  • Assess at start of each shift that the team have all required resources to safely achieve quality and rate of output to std:
    • Area is safe and no known hazards
    • Equipment working to standard
    • Useable material, parts, consumables all available
  • Routinely assess progress at each workstation to standards and investigate all noncompliance and take appropriate action.

STANDARD

  • Immediately challenge team members to address observed non-compliance with agreed layout, housekeeping and cleanliness standards in accordance with responsibility areas indicated on the zonal map.

CI

  • Assist Business wide projects that align with overall business strategy.
  • Assist with unit specific projects and carry out investigations as required.
  • Challenge the norm and highlight suggestions for improvement
  • Use basic problem solving/root cause analysis when noncompliance issues or opportunities arise.

ADMIN

  • Complete end of shift handover report reflecting points above (inc detail).
  • Populate, analyse and review all reports for each shift.
  • Review/update reports to analyse TMS/TAS.
  • Ensure accurate stock counts are performed in all areas.
  • Ensure Training paperwork and records are maintained.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are followed, consistently applied and recorded.
