The Role

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and validating robust electrical systems across a diverse range of GSE products. Working as part of the electrical design team, you will take concepts from customer requirements through to production, ensuring compliance with industry standards and delivering high-quality, innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical schematics, harnesses, and panel layouts in line with internal, industry, and legislative standards.

• Produce technical documentation, including design specifications, parts lists, and maintenance components.

• Conduct simulations and engineering analyses to validate designs and specify electrical/electronic components.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technical solutions and ensure a right first time design approach.

• Develop electrical solutions by researching and testing components, ensuring effective system integration.

• Work closely with PLC Software Engineers to define control strategies for powertrain and driveline systems.

• Contribute to new product development projects, expanding the existing product range.

• Ensure product quality through robust design, electrical testing methods, and validation of finished systems.

• Apply knowledge of safety-critical systems to electrical and electronic design.

• Support continuous improvement, compliance with ISO9001, and adherence to company health & safety standards.

About You

The ideal candidate will bring:

• HND or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or relevant experience).

• Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience in a similar design role.

• Proven experience in schematic design using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or EPLAN.

• Background in electrified vehicle powertrain systems or off-road electrical system design.

• Ability to read, create, and draft detailed electrical drawings to recognised standards.

• Strong knowledge of current electrical regulations and design standards.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
