Job Title: Domiciliary Care Supervisor

Location: Portadown​

Salary: £25,000 – £35,000 OTE​

Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday 08.30am to 5pm. ​

Contract Type: Full Time – Permanent​​

Job Purpose

The Care Coordinator will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality domiciliary care services. This includes conducting initial care plan meetings with service users, performing annual reviews, and overseeing the recruitment and induction of domiciliary care workers. The role demands strict adherence to the Domiciliary Care Agencies Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007 and the RQIA Domiciliary Care Agencies Minimum Standards.​

Key Responsibilities

Care Planning and Reviews

  • Conduct comprehensive initial assessments and care plan meetings with new service users, ensuring person-centered approaches that respect individual needs and preferences.​
  • Schedule and carry out annual reviews of existing care plans, updating documentation to reflect any changes in service users’ circumstances or needs.​
  • Ensure all care plans are compliant with RQIA standards and are reviewed in a timely manner, as stipulated by the Domiciliary Care Agencies Regulations.​

Recruitment and Induction

  • Lead the recruitment process for domiciliary care workers, including advertising vacancies, shortlisting candidates, conducting interviews, and facilitating background checks.​
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive induction programs for new staff, aligning with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) Induction Standards.​
  • Maintain accurate records of recruitment and induction processes, ensuring transparency and compliance with regulatory requirements.​

Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Domiciliary Care Agencies Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007 and RQIA standards.​
  • Participate in internal audits and prepare for external inspections by regulatory bodies, implementing any recommended actions promptly.​
  • Stay updated on changes in legislation and best practices, integrating them into agency policies and procedures.​

Communication and Collaboration

  • Liaise effectively with service users, families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to coordinate care services.​
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.​
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and person-centered care within the agency.​

Essential Criteria

  • A minimum NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.​
  • At least three years of experience in a domiciliary care setting, with demonstrable experience in care planning and staff recruitment.​
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Domiciliary Care Agencies Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007 and RQIA Minimum Standards.​
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with service users and staff.​
  • Proficiency in using care management software and Microsoft Office applications.​
  • Must be willing and able to travel across Northern Ireland as business needs arise, including attending care planning meetings, reviews, and recruitment events

Desirable Criteria

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Adults’ Management) or willingness to work towards this qualification.​
  • Experience in conducting internal audits and preparing for regulatory inspections.​
  • Membership or registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC).​+3
