About the job

We are recruiting for a Bookkeeper/Accounts Technician to join a well-established accountancy practice based in Ballynahinch on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable exposure to a wide variety of clients and develop within a growing practice offering great autonomy and progression.

Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for and assisting with the following duties:

  • Processing invoices and managing accounts payable and receivable

  • Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation, including data entry into accounting software

  • Reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies

  • Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes

  • Bank account and credit card reconciliations

  • Processing payroll for multiple clients

  • Preparation of statutory reports (VAT, EC Sales, Intrastat)

  • Assisting with preparation of management accounts as required

Your skills & experience

  • Proficiency in Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel is essential

  • At least 2 years experience in a similar accounts or bookkeeping role (practice experience desirable but not essential)

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients
