Job summary
Genesis Bakery, based in Magherafelt is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hygiene Supervisor to join our Day Shift team (9am start, Monday to Friday with rotational Saturday)this is a fast-paced and quality-driven bakery. This role is essential to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety across our production areas.
As the Hygiene Supervisor, you will lead a small team responsible for ensuring that all hygiene procedures are followed rigorously, in compliance with food safety regulations and internal standards. Your experience in hygiene, especially within a food manufacturing or bakery setting, will be crucial in maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for both our products and our people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the bakery site is cleaned safely and efficiently.
- Lead and coordinate the hygiene team to meet production and hygiene standards.
- Maintain health & safety and food safety compliance at all times.
Duties Overview:
Staff Management:
- Organize hygiene staff schedules to meet production needs.
- Complete attendance and return-to-work checks.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols.
- Manage staff breaks, holiday requests, and report concerns to the Hygiene Manager.
- Changeover Cleaning:
- Coordinate with production on cleaning schedules.
- Ensure timely and safe changeover cleans, including allergen clean-downs.
- Inspect and sign off cleaned areas before returning to production.
- Washroom Operations:
- Oversee safe use of cleaning equipment (e.g., IWM Washer, Bowl Tipper).
- Ensure proper cleaning of food contact items and high-level equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of drains and shadow board tools.
- Report equipment damage promptly.
If you have the following experience, please apply:
- Minimum 1 year managing a hygiene team.
- At least 1 year in a hygiene role within food manufacturing.
Qualifications:
- Food Safety Level 2.
- Chemical Handling Awareness Training.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
