Purchase Ledger, Industry, Perm, Early Friday finish

Hays Finance are currently recruiting for a Purchase Ledger role with one of the leading independent suppliers to the construction industry in the UK & Ireland. This is a full-time, permanent role, based in Newry.

Your new role
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• To manage, maintain and control all invoice documentation and distribute and code, within a tight deadline, all such items including supplier returns notes and direct invoicing.
• Matching of purchase Invoices onto the accounting system,
• Ensure all invoices and associated documentation is processed completely and accurately as possible.
• Liaise with other branches throughout group to ensure all queries associated with invoices are correctly and promptly treated.
• Ensure all current and new supplier account details such as account number, terms of payment, sort code and account name are up to date and maintained.
• Review and approve all transactions for payment within terms.
• Prepare supplier accounts and invoices for payment runs.
• Ensure supplier statements are reconciled before payment with this information maintained and filed.
• Administration and reporting to the team leader and Senior Company Accountant.
• Provide cover across the finance function as required.

What you’ll need to succeed
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate previous experience working in Purchase Ledger. You will need to be IT literate with a working knowledge of Excel, have a pro-active approach, attention to detail and accuracy.
