Product Development Engineer – Graduate
A bit about the role:
As a Graduate Product Development Engineer, you will be at the forefront of innovation in the building products industry with one of Europe’s largest building product manufacturing businesses, based in Northern Ireland or Derbyshire. You’ll contribute to the development, testing, and optimisation of new and existing construction products and solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to bring practical, sustainable, and market-leading products to life.

This is an ideal role for a recent graduate in Construction engineering, product development, mechanical/ manufacturing engineering, or a related discipline, who is passionate about product innovation, sustainability, and improving the built environment.
What you will be doing:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing product lines through technical modifications, cost efficiency, and performance enhancements.
- Support the development of new products that are efficient, economical, and designed with consideration for end user.
- Collaborate closely with various internal teams, including manufacturing, finance, innovation, and marketing, to ensure product feasibility, optimal performance, and successful market opportunities. You’ll gain valuable insight into how different departments contribute to product lifecycle.
- Work diligently to ensure tasks are completed to achieve project schedules and deliverables, developing strong project management fundamentals.
- Prepare internal technical documentation, including test reports, specifications, design drawings and patent support information.
- Participate in cross-functional project teams and innovation workshops.
- Undertake any other tasks as deemed necessary within your capability, providing broad exposure to different areas of the business and supporting your continuous learning journey.

- Be highly IT literate and fully proficient in key design software, including SolidWorks and AutoCAD packages.
- Possess a willingness to undertake occasional travel to our production facilities or construction sites as required, supporting project needs and collaboration.
