Ashton Recruitment require an Retail Manager for a charity based in Magherafelt.

Job Title: Retail Manager

Location: Magherafelt

Duration: Temporary – Permanent

Salary: £30,000

Hours of Work: Tuesday-Saturday, 09:00-17:00

Duties will include (But not limited to):

  • To recruit, train and develop staff and volunteers ensuring we have the right skill mix to support the effective running of the charity shop.
  • Ensure appropriate levels of staff and voluntdeers are available.
  • Line Management of staff and volunteers, including managing HR processes such as grievance or disciplinary processes; managing absences or performance management.
  • Management of budgets and achieving income targets through sales, recycling, fundraising initiatives in-store and Gift Aid.
  • Leading on the development of sales plans and seasonal promotions alongside staff and volunteers.
  • Ensuring implementation, training and compliance with all internal policies and procedures including Health & Safety; Fire Safety; GDPR; and risk management etc
  • Taking responsibility for identifying and implementing new systems and processes that may be required for the safe and effective running of the shop.
  • Marketing & PR for the shop including managing social media presence.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration with other organisations eg engaging companies for volunteering or fundraising initiatives
  • Reporting to the Director of Operations

Essential Criteria

  • Experience of managing and developing staff and/or volunteers.
  • Experience of financial management such as managing budgets, and income/sales targets
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements; Fire Safety standards and risk assessments
  • Excellent Communication, Interpersonal, Organisational and Creative skills.
  • Computer Literate.
  • Commitment to outstanding customer services and promotion of high standards within the shop
  • Able to work flexibly.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous retail experience
  • Previous charity shop experience (paid or voluntary)
  • Cash handling experience
  • of managing Gift Aid in a charity retail environment
