Capex Recruitment are working in partnership with a manufacturing firm based in the Dungannon area on the appointment of a Buyer.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing of materials, ensuring that all materials are on site and on time to meet production demands.
Responsibilities in your new role:
- Build relationships with key suppliers, negotiating the best price and lead times for parts and materials
- Evaluate supplier performance and address issues promptly
- Work with a continuous improvement mindset, implementing improvements to help the procurement department run more efficiently
- Sourcing of new suppliers to help reduce costs
- Frequently liaise with internal departments across the business
- Monitor inventory and manage stock levels
What you will need to succeed:
- A minimum of two years experience working in a fast paced, procurement department preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Proficient with ERP/MRP systems as well as all Microsoft Office packages
- Sound knowledge of Supply Chain management principles
