Estimator Civils & Water Infrastructure

The Opportunity

A well-established, award-winning contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing civils team in Co. Tyrone. Specialising in water and wastewater infrastructure, public realm works, and utilities across NI and the UK, this organisation is built on collaboration, sustainability, and operational excellence.

This is a unique opportunity to shape early project design through value engineering and commercial input, working alongside Framework and Commercial Managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects

• Contribute to Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) with value-focused design input

• Perform quantity take-offs from design drawings and specifications

• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to obtain accurate pricing

• Analyse project risks and incorporate contingencies

• Conduct market research on materials and labour trends

• Support tender submissions and bid strategies

• Collaborate in developing project budgets aligned with client goals

• Maintain estimation records and generate cost reports

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards

Requirements

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in estimating within water or civil infrastructure

• Strong technical understanding of drawings, specifications, and civils methodologies

• Proficient in Bluebeam, CostX or similar estimating tools

• Excellent communication, teamwork, and negotiation abilities

• Thorough and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
