Job Summary

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a manufacturing business on the appointment of a Purchasing Assistant on a full-time permanent basis. This is a brand new position for a junior procurement professional who is ready to make that next step upwards in their career. This is an excellent chance for someone to gain experience in a major manufacturer in County Tyrone.

As the Purchasing Assistant, you will support the Senior Buyer and SC Manager to assist with procuring a wide range of engineering and electrical products from local and global suppliers to support production with an increased demand for their top quality product range.

  • Preparing and processing purchase orders.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely delivery of goods.
  • Managing materials orders, chase purchase orders and expedite deliveries
  • Communicating with suppliers and vendors.
  • Maintaining supplier relationships and identify new suppliers.
  • Negotiating prices and delivery dates.
  • Updating systems to keep all relevant parties informed of order status and any delays.

What you will need to succeed:

  • 2 years’ experience in purchasing administration position
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Strong working knowledge ERP/MRP systems and Excel
