Human Resources AssistantLocation: Belfast

We are seeking a proactive and organised Human Resources Assistant to support the HR and administrative functions within the City and Neighbourhood Services department.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day administrative and HR support across the department

Supervise, allocate tasks to, and develop assigned staff

Compile and analyse workforce and compliance data for reports
-
Maintain accurate records and documentation systems
-
Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and agency staffing
-
Support absence management, employee relations, and payroll processes
-
Assist with investigations and grievance/disciplinary procedures
-
Prepare and issue reports, correspondence, agendas and minutes
-
Contribute to training plans and staff development coordination
Essential Experience:
Candidates must demonstrate at least one years relevant HR experience in the following areas:

Advising operational managers on a range of HR matters (e.g. attendance, recruitment, FOI/DSARs, employee relations)

Developing and maintaining HR systems and administrative processes

Direct supervision of staff
Key Skills Required:

Strong knowledge of HR policies and procedures

Excellent written and verbal communication

Analytical and problem-solving abilities

Experience extracting and reporting on HR data
This is a Grade 5 role reporting to the Business Support Officer (HR/Administration). It offers a chance to play an important part in supporting the delivery of a high-quality HR service across the department.
